SATEC Emergency Working Team Rushed to Ya'an Earthquake Area Overnight，Assisting in Search and Rescue Lives

In the afternoon of June 1st, Lushan County and Baoxing County in Ya'an City, Sichuan Province, experienced earthquakes of magnitude 6.1 and 4.5 within 3 minutes, which damaged some houses, transportation and communication facilities in both places.

After the earthquake, SATEC dispatched the emergency working group to rush to the earthquake area night after night with the high-throughput portable terminal, rescue and relief communications, and fully support the restoration of the local emergency communication network.

In the face of landslides and road bumps caused by the earthquake, the Pilotage Emergency Working Group was undaunted and arrived at Wulong Township, Baoxing County, at 21:00 on the same day. Together with local government rescuers, they quickly built a satellite communication link. The satellite Internet was completed in three minutes, and the on-site disaster situation was transmitted back to the headquarters through the satellite link. In addition, the emergency response team is stationed at the site to respond to rescue needs at any time and provide stable communication support.

Communication recovery 

Group and rescue workers immediately set out. They walked on the broken road, especially facing a large area of landslides, which seriously hindered the speed of progress. Only a single man carrying a satellite portable terminal could enter the suspected barrier lake area on foot. 

Walking into the disaster area

After arriving at the destination, SATEC emergency response members quickly launched the construction of ka-band satellite terminal equipment, providing the UAV with a high bandwidth and stable satellite network, and sent the scene of the suspected barrier lake back to the officials in real time.
